Got Vintage?

« on: January 10, 2015, 08:21:05 AM »

Come out and join us on TeamSpeak and the Sky Connection Server for some good old fashion bushflying fun. The event will be held next Saturday (The 17th) and will depart Lake Hood Strip for Talkeetna. (A sort of homecoming flight) Once at Talkeetna, we will head north for a very tricky landing at Stephan Lake Lodge and finally another cool landing at Summit. (Don't forget to try some new mountain landing spots on the way up) All this before departing back to Talkeetna.

Don't have TeamSpeak 3? Download it here.

Three sceneries are recommended for this flight.
1. All GotBush? core scenery packages. (You can find these under the files tab//Members Only)
2. Summit Airport
Summit Update v1.01
3. Stephan Lake Lodge | Alpha v0.75

A time for this event has not yet been decided, to help us decide, please post a starting time that you will be available at. Thank you, and see you in the skies!

If you believe that it is impossible to land there, you were just proven wrong..

I was just on the sky connection server and team speak  and had a conversations with several persons there.  They are a a great group of people, much like we have here and they welcome Gotbush members to use their server at any time.

So will I. A Grumman Goose is my chosen aircraft for the 'tour!?' A default aircraft so you all know what I'm flying.

Is it a tour? Is there or will there be a route or will we do a circuit at the airports? Do we have to follow any rules or is it a free for all? Plus, what kind of scenery settings do we need? I remember times when people were at all different elevations on the ground. Made for poor landing viewing.

Maybe if we did a back and forth kinda thing so anyone joining would see both places.

I'll probably fly the Carenado C206 HD or the Flight Replicas Super Cub.

Basically it will be a free for all once we land at Stephan Lake. We will look for some new landing spots between the two airports.

For scenery settings, we will be using mesh complexity maxed out and the resolution set to no less than 10m. Ground textures are also recommended to be no less than 60cm. (These settings ensure that Summit displays properly)

Event times really haven't been set, but lets say we start to gather in around 5 Central/6pm Eastern then just proceed with the event when we are ready?

Okay, I have all the files installed and turned on in my library. Haven't looked at them yet though. My evening looks free still, so I can't wait. See you out there.

It was really dark in Alaska by the time the event got started, so we decided to move the flight to the Solomons.
