Ok I bought the Super Cub package and love it, the only prob is landing it.  I can land just about any aircraft virtually flawless except this one.  When you start coming to a stop it starts bouncing like your rolling over good sized boulders, yet I'm on a smooth paved surface almost like the psi in the tires is at 500 lol.  If anyone knows a possible way to fix this or even if there is one please feel free to let me know.  Its driving me crazy! Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking you got the patches preinstalled in the main download if you recently got it. I got mine several months ago and about a month later they released a patch (at least for the tundra tired versions).
So it shouldn't be that as they should have patched the newer downloads. But I thought I'd mention it in case.

Maybe adjust your realism settings?

I have the A2A J-3 and it didn't do well on the ground at all until I cranked all but the "crash tolerance" (I keep that at half as per GB? suggestions for skimming) to the max.
Don't think it really had a effect on the FR Super Cub though..... (Made my Beaver X ground handling better too though. It was terrible once I installed the ORBX PNW scenery, bounced all over.)

But who knows. Seems like the payware planes act better with full realism. At least to me.

Yeah I tried maxing out all the realism settings, but that didn't help. Thanks for the tip though, worth a try at least. Still bounces like crazy on just about any landing.

its the contact points. some folks are good at makin the planes look good but are clueless to the dynamics and contact points. I have had to fix this many times on aircraft

Yes, I looked at the CP's and they were a bit odd. They (A2A) have claimed they are the first to allow water skimming and they have it a bit tweaked. This is right out of the .cfg. You can see by their notes they were really focused on suspension.

they copied my idea is what they did.

oh well.. this is why I stopped makin stuff. Much easier to steal ideas in FS.

And save the file.

Make a backup of the config file prior to messing with it, just in case something goes wrong.

What this does is add a bit of Dampening to the landing gear points. This stopped the bouncing behavior.

the bounce is from the static cg height and the weight and balance cg height are off, the gear allows the airctraft to trigger the autoplacement crap in fsx and you jump up and down.
Unless its just on landing, then you may have too loose of shocks on the gear like this shows.

Are those codes just for the Tundras or do I put them in the regular wheeled plane as well? or does the regular wheel even bounce? (Only have flown the ski, float, and tundra versions)

CB to sort of answer your question, this was being tried on the Flight Replicas Tundra or "Extreme" Bush package. If your running Acceleration the supposedly there "should be no issue." < coming directly from the creator.  Well the creator lost a lot of points with me so take that as far as you'd like lol.  Anyway, I am still fine tuning those settings. These settings that are listed above create a brick effect almost.  It does still bounce a little when hitting the runway to hard, but doesnt bounce when your just taxiing like it was before, so prob is def. where Stick and Windspeaks are saying.  Just a little more tuning and I'll post my final numbers where the landings seems to be the most real.  You know seeing as I've flown hundreds of Super Cubs in real life lmao j/k.

Hmmm. In mine those numbers in red are .5, .3, .3 stock.

So they must keep tweaking with the package.
I am also gonna try these suggested numbers. Can always change it back  smile .

EDIT: I tried those numbers out in the "Green Tundra" version which I use in FSE. Works really good. But it wasn't TOO bad before. I can still bounce it with crash detection on without being a crash but really screwing up my landing. OR I can set it down and pretty much keep it there and stop it in a couple plane lengths. (By dumping the flaps at the right moment of course)
So far so good for me.  smile

Now I'm wondering if this sort of tweak will make the Aerosoft BeaverX tundra able to taxi smoother.... (It bounces all over a bit too, to the point you can't park and get FSE to register the flight.)

Read TownAir's post. The above tweaks were tested with the large tundra tires. Smaller tires may require some fine-tuning.

Could anyone help? Just bought this plane for FSX steam edition......... bounces like a son of a b***h. I tried changing the contact points like above and it still feels like it has ZERO suspension travel and no dampening at all. one solid piece of airplane..... any help???
